Birth & Postpartum Services

Keep in mind that...
Prior to establishing any partnerships between a doula and client, a vibe check consultation is an essential step. This allows the doula and client to connect on a deeper level, ensuring that working together is a perfect match.

Payment Options
Okumbeh doula services accepts doula insurance options including:
Ohio Medicaid
Flexible Spending Account
(FSA)
Health Savings Account
(HSA)
As of October 2024, if you are pregnant or postpartum with Medicaid, you are eligible to receive coverage from a Board of Nursing certified, Medicaid enrolled doula.

I am Certified Doula, with the Ohio Board of Nursing.
To use FSA funds it may be required to have a "Letter of Medical Necessity" from a health care provider. This letter explains why doula services are medically necessary for your unique situation.

To ensure that your FSA includes doula services, it's important to consult with an FSA benefits counselor or review the plan documents provided by your employer. They can offer precise information about eligible expenses under your plan
Similar to FSAs, HSAs cover doula services depending on the specific plan and medical necessity. If your plan permits HSA funds for doula services, you may still be required to submit a "Letter of Medical Necessity" from you healthcare provider.
Since HSA's are individually owned, you are allowed to open and contribute to one if your employer doesn't offer it.
